The stainless steel faceplate is customizable, with options for graphics, text, and colors to match your site’s aesthetic. Photovoltaic solar panels, strategically placed on the angled top, capture sunlight throughout the day to power the device, making it perfect for various climates and outdoor settings.

With a “set it and forget it” design, the Solar Eco-Post requires minimal maintenance, delivering a seamless and hassle-free interpretive experience.

Versatility and User-Friendly Features

The Solar Eco-Post features up to 8 programmable buttons, allowing for multiple audio messages. Visitors can listen to these messages through the integrated outdoor speaker or via a standard 3.5mm audio jack compatible with headphones or induction neck loops. The device also includes a battery backup to ensure continuous operation during cloudy periods or extended low sunlight conditions.

Select Accessories and Options

In an effort to offer sites maximum flexibility, the Solar Eco-Post can accommodate an optional remote mounted Solar Array. This option allows a site to install the Eco-Post in an area where there may be limited sunlight. Eco-Posts can be located along heavily treed paths, in gazebos, or inside indoor welcome centers, etc., with the solar array mounted remotely. The remote solar array comes with either 15’ (4.57 m) or 50’ (15.24 m) cable lengths.

Faceplates tend to be unique to each location and individual Eco-Post unit. Tour-Mate can assist in creating a unique and customized faceplate design, or a design of your creation can be sent to Tour-Mate and printed and attached prior to shipping.

 

For sites where an external speaker may not be a desired solution, Tour-Mate offers a Tethered Handset version of the Solar Eco-Post. A robust T-Coil compatible accessible handset is connected to the Solar Eco-Post via a vandal resistant cable. The tethered option is available for all versions of the Solar Eco-Post.

For sites that would like user adjustable volume, Tour-Mate offers a version of the Solar Eco-Post with two additional buttons on the faceplate for volume control. Solar Eco-Posts with volume buttons also incorporate the ability for sites to collect information about the number of times a message has been accessed.

Tour-Mate offers a Companion Mounting Stand as an option for sites that wish to mount the Solar Eco-Post directly to the ground. The Companion Mounting Stand is two (2) feet (0.61 m) tall and can be bolted to the ground. The Companion Mounting Stand is constructed using the same aluminum as the chassis of the Solar Eco-Post.

Solar Eco-Posts equipped with a proximity sensor will automatically play an audio message when visitors approach the unit within a certain proximity. The audio message can still be unique to each message button. Clients can use this option to attract visitors towards the unit to promote further interaction and/or to accommodate visitors with visual acuity issues.
